The unique Garden Kerman rug is a hand-knotted rug made of the highest quality, hand-spun New Zealand wool on a cotton warp. The wool is dyed with natural dyes obtained from walnuts, pistachios and the Kermes beetle. The carpet pattern depicts a Persian garden and an artificial water channel in six equal parts. During the final treatment, the carpet is washed in a special tea bath, which gives this carpet a specific patina and shine. The carpet fringes also get an antique finish through this process. The pile height is 15 mm, so the carpet can be displayed in interiors with underfloor heating. The original of this carpet is exhibited in the art museum in Vienna. The carpet was hand-tied in the area of the Indian city of Aurai.
