The unique Deccan is a hand-knotted carpet made of the highest quality hand-spun New Zealand wool, on a cotton warp. The Samarkand collection got its design from old Moghul patterns. The wool is dyed with natural dyes obtained from walnuts, pistachios and the Kermes beetle. During the final treatment, the carpet is washed in a special tea bath, which gives this carpet a specific patina and shine. During this procedure, which is repeated 3 times, I also get the fringes of the carpet in an antique finish. The carpet has a pile height of 15 mm and can be used in both modern and classic interiors with underfloor heating. The carpet was hand-tied in the area of the Indian city of Aurai.
